Loud and quiet
As bears are solitary animals and do not live within a social structure (except in mating season), the sounds they make are not suited for complex communication. Young bears emit a growling sound while drinking, and squeak and grunt when playing. When the mother bear drives off the young bears at the end of the upbringing phase, she does this by growling and barking. Fully-grown animals scare attempt to intimidate opponents in violent situations by fearsome bellowing.
